Unlike other non-traditional high school programs you view online, North American Academy is a brick and mortar school. As a private institution, North American Academy is registered with the State of Florida Department of Education.
Although we are located in Miami-Dade county we accept students nationally and internationally. Classes are taught by dedicated faculty using modern technology and tried and true teaching methods.
This is an excellent program for young teens who have dropped out of high school, at-risk youths of dropping out and for adults who want a more robust learning experience.
The campus program is for for students who need classroom instruction in order to graduate from an alternative, non-traditional program. Our campus program is offered 4 days a week. Classes are set in a comfortable environment and taught by highly qualified instructors. A Career Training component is also part of this campus program.
Our programs meet the requirements outlined by the state for high school level education. Our academic curriculum follows the common core standards and includes the recommended content of both the Sun Shine State Standards (SSS) and Competency Based Curriculum (CBC). Graduate students are encouraged to participate in the scheduled quarterly commencement ceremony. Courses are offered with an open entrance/open exit policy. The Campus Program is not intended for able-bodied teens who have the ability to graduate from a traditional high school program. It is recommended, however, for at risk-youths of dropping out of high school, high school dropouts and adults.
